Betty on the beach

I came across these wonderful photos of Betty Grable on the beach -how cute is she?!
-and since it's really cold and rainy again I'm sitting here inside longing for the day I can play on the beach like that....

Rainy days...manicure nights

After so many sunfilled and warm summerdays and hot, hot, hot summernights theres a little rain for us. I don't mind as much as I usually do since the air is still warm and I have to work...
I even planned a little manicure night for myself tonight since it's raining (not often I have time for that).

It'll be a low budget manicure including sugar, lemonjuice and olive oil...


I've had this shape for my nails for quite some time but tonight I might sharpen them a bit...
I plan to do a proper moon-manicure. I have done this many times for evenings (..haven't gone out in awhile..) but for weekdays I usually do plain full color nails right before I jump on my bicycle to go to work.
I found some inspiration in these Cutex ads from the 30's...



Now I only wish a had some Cutex nailpolish...
Guess my Red Premiere or Rose Orange Coral Pink (It's really called that!) from Dior will have to do.

..and if the rain continues tomorrow I might wear what she's wearing....

Tempest and Bettie

It's a classic starring Tempest Storm and Bettie Page in a very sweet reverse striptease.... One of my favorites.
Sadly we lost Bettie last year but Tempest is still going strong.

Seamed Stockings...

The weather is finally a bit better and I can wear stockings without freezing my thighs off...


I found about 12 pairs of unused vintage stockings in a secondhand store. I couldn't believe my luck! There where everything from grey to brown, with and without seams, cuban heels, keyholes and all!

..and I only paid about $10 for everything which actually also included a scarf and a pair of gloves...

Different types of heels. My favorites are Cuban and Point....
I try to find the original vintage stockings which have the best feel to them but I also wear Ars Vivendi, in my opinion they are the closest to the real deal since they're made on original 50's machines.

Where's Summer?!!

Rain and strong, cold wind -does this sound like summer to you?
I'm going crazy, it's June! I need some hot sunny days so I can wear sweet summer dresses and open toed shoes, please!

Ocean blue...

We went to the summerhouse for the weekend, the weather was perfect!!!
Sunny days, bike-rides through the forest and warm evenings by the ocean, so nice to smell the fresh, salty air and feel the warm sand between my toes.
Only problem now is I miss it sooo much....
